St. Catherine of Siena school meets the needs of our Church and local community in many ways. Our students serve the St. Catherine Church community by being instrumental in all aspects of Mass. Each week first through eighth grades serve as members of the choir, gift bearers, lectors, and altar servers. Our students are also active in their home parishes and perform many of these same functions. Also, we offer prayers and support to our southern vicariate churches. Each class has adopted a southern vicariate church, and students have participated in special projects for their priest, parish, and shut-ins.
Our school extends the reach of service to local area organizations as well. Among the groups our students have assisted are the Hospitality Center, the United Board of Missions, Southeast Texas Food Bank, Cypress Glen Nursing Home, Scholastic All for Books, Smile Train, Heifer International, the Veterans Administration Hospital, and the Ronald McDonald House.
St. Catherine students are provided with ample service opportunities that instill in them, from an early age, the importance of giving back for the many blessings they have received.
