English exposes students to some of the significant works of literature & the great writers who created them. Students will read a variety of genres from fiction to non-fiction including novels, poetry, short stories, informational texts, editorial articles, etc. In addition, students will compose a variety of texts, including (but not limited to) analytical and argumentative essays, expository texts, narratives, poetry, presentations and projects. In English, we will work together to develop students' skills in all areas of English / Language Arts.

Grades are updated weekly. The ParentPlus portal app allows you to view students' grades directly from your smart device. Accelerated Reading is a part of our curriculum and students are expected to meet or exceed their goal to become proficient readers and lifelong learners. Progress on AR during the quarter will be checked, but grades will only be issued at the end of the quarter.

ELA tutorials are offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:00 by appointment.
